Not sure if this counts as spoiler talk but what the hell right? Anyways, I canāt sleep after the finale so Iām back with another crackpot overthought theory thing: I saw someone say that they thought the theme song disappearing lacked creative reason and it was done ājust because.ā But for me the reasoning for that was always clear. The song is called āChange for the Worldā. In the first two seasons, there is more of a belief that Barry can change, either by himself, others, or the audience. Seasons 3 and 4 feel, to me, like the corrupting influence of someoneās inherent nature making change impossible. When the show is no longer about change, but rather stark, ugly, slow reality, the song about change disappears and we are left with ambient noise of the world around the characters. Iām probably overthinking as usual but Iād love to hear what yāall think!
