Surgery during a new job?
Post Body

UPDATE: I just had a sort of end-of-year performance review with my boss and at the very end I said "oh by the way...." and she was totally on board! She said to take as much time as I needed to recover and just to keep her posted on dates so she can make sure my projects have coverage!!!!!!!!!

Did anyone have the surgery within 6 or so months of starting a new job?

I'm currently temp (full-time) and really want them to hire me perm... but worry about seeming like I'm not committed or leaving them in a lurch if I get the surgery in March/April 2021 if I've only been there since August 2020.

I feel comfortable telling my bosses the real reason (a couple coworkers already know), but don't want a 2-week gap to endanger the relationship, especially with a new group I'll be helping starting in January.
