I think its time we accept Messi is gonna go. Even if Bartomeu leaves, even if the whole board is sacked, even if electiona are held today as we give Suarez the farewell he deserves (not a 2 minute phonecall), even if we get Xavi as coach and Font as president, Messi has earned the right to go.
When Neymar left, Messi stayed, when we burned resources in mediatic signings, Messi stayed, when he had to see Iniesta not properly replaced, he stayed, when Anfield happened (and we promised him nevermore), he stayed. He singlehandedly covered covered all the gaps and filth, he stepped up even when his body is reaching its limits. He did his best to save the club that made him what he is from a mediocre president, and almost got us there (again).
Now, after years of warnings, after having the same club that throws away 120m on a player that made a documentary just to reject us, after seeing a promising player's dream killed to balance books and be replaces with a 30 y/o (no hate to him), he can no longer hide the cracks by himself. A team whose whole lineup costed less than our 3 most expensive players (all of whom were benched) thrased us (deservedly so), proving we are not the new Milan, we are the new Barca. Messi deserves better.
Messi made many of us learn to love football, dancing on the field, making the impossible seem easy, leaving teammates and rivals at awe. In highs and lows, he has been there to show us what football can be. Those of us who love football (and specially those of us who do because of him) owe him the support to let him love it again.
