Cigarette Odor?

Hello all, I recently picked up a Bedale in great condition but it has a faint trace of cigarette smoke, particularly in the collar. Anyone have any suggestions on how to go about removing it from not only that area, but also the body of the coat? I was thinking of steaming it because I heard that helps remove odors, but I'm worried that it would ruin the waxing. It's not a strong smell, but it's enough that I want to get rid of it.
