To open or not to open?

I have this blonde and a brunette 35th anniversary swimsuit barbie, I took the earrings off the brunette for fear of green ear (does that still happen?) And the shoes for play but haven't fully unboxed her. I'm thinking of opening both of them as I have 50th anniversary swimsuit open on display but I want to play with her and this one scratches that itch without fear of wrecking her hair. I usually unbox all of my dolls, they look like they want to be free!
