Hey all, I have had a really shitty month. We lost our three best bartenders for various horrible reasons, none of which was them wanting to leave. After the first, I advertised on social media where we have a pretty decent following, facebook jobs which sucks but is the last free place in the world, craigslist, and on a few local job boards. I keep reupping the ad, but we are getting ZERO applications. I've asked around and the other bars in the area seem to be having the same issue but they are advertising even less than we are.
Is anyone having any luck hiring out there? We've only been open three months but we are SLAMMED all weekend and right now I am temping a couple of rockstars who I can't afford to keep around too much longer. If they leave, I'm down to two, one of which is very very new and was only supposed to be our barback for a few months until they could learn more. I'm stepping in this week and taking over barbacking and stepping in on the slower shifts but I am definitely a home bartender who loves designing cocktails who built a bar and don't have the speed/skill to replace what we have lost.
