Saying No to NYE Party
Post Body

Over the years we've had some NYE parties but none of them were actually memorable. Given the habits of customers today (they all go home around 9 pm), I've decided to have a chill evening with some good hors d'oeuvres and a few party favors.

The cops and the economy have taken a toll on NYE at local bars in my area.

Comments

Bars near me killed it for themselves.

$20 cover - when on any Saturday it's $5, at most.

Drinks made half-assed or waiting half hour to even be acknowledged because the bar is packed and they had 2 bartenders working, one of whom is too busy with the pretty girl/guy to GAF about anyone else...

Nothing special happening - nothing passed around at midnight (most used to pass around cups or cheap sparkling wine to everyone).

Y'all got greedy and tried to grab as much money up front as you could, without giving the customer anything to justify it. I can sit home and watch the ball drop on my own TV and spend that $20 on a bottle or a case of beer. If you want business, do something to make it worth people walking in your door, and not charging them a ridiculous amount for the privilege just because you can.
