One of our bartenders left so I hired someone who had previously worked at the bar under previous management. Unbeknownst to me, one of our biggest customers really does not like this bartender. Apparently they used to work together and the bartender owes the customer money.
The customer consistently gives me a hard time about it but has never threatened to go somewhere else. But they are definitely very vocal about it.
I have not had any issues with the bartender but also recognize that they may just be playing nice while I'm around. One of the other bartenders said that they were surly to her during their first shift change.
Anyone been in this situation?
I think a lot of people never learned to not give money they're afraid to lose. Cause this scenario is a little too common 💀
