Has anyone encountered a bug where donating prisoners gives no influence?

Trying to get my clan rank up while running as a mercenary for Vlandia, I started donating prisoners to Sargot. I've done it several times now, and I haven't seen any movement in my influence. I'm wondering if I'm encountered a bug or if I'm just missing something?
