It was around 1230 AM on Wednesday, I was heading back to my hotel and happened to look through a couple of spa and massage places and to my surprise the places were full of Asian men and almost all of them were having head massages. They looked very relaxed( and almost sleeping). I am wondering if asian men were locals or tourists? 1. If they were tourist then I understand, they don’t have to wake up for work the next day and can have message any time. 2. but if they were locals then why having head massages at midnight hours? Doesn’t they have work the next day? What about their partners, are they okay their men having head massages at midnight hours?
Not everyone works 9a - 5p, maybe they work evenings, and needed a head massage to get over dealing with farangs all evening.
Also, my experiences in Bangkok were that any night of the week can feel like a 'weekend' to folks from outside Asia. I mean, night markets are probably more popular with native Thai folk than foreigners.
