I’ve accidentally stepped on my dog’s paw. You know what he didn’t do? This. I tripped over my lab when I was a kid. You know what he didn’t do? This. It’s such a severe reaction if it was because the dog was simply “startled.” A dog may nip at a child when startled, but ripping the child’s skull up? Nah. Not normal nor acceptable behavior.
