NSFW. The sheriff's department wanted to arrest JJ's father on child neglect charges!! They are claiming that JJ was left unattended and went into the neighbors yard where the dogs were.

Golden retriever, labrador, beagle, basset hound, cavalier King Charles spaniel, cocker spaniel, English springer spaniel, pointer, pug, Boston terrier, Newfoundland, Irish setter, vizsla, German shepherd, French bulldog, collie, Aussie, Brittany, corgi……… All great options if you have children, of course if you also have the resources, space, time, and whatever else is needed to care for the specific breed you choose. THESE ARE ALL WAAAYYYY BETTER CHOICES THAN GETTING A PIT BULL IN A HOME WITH CHILDREN. There are literally so many options, yet pit bull people choose the sh#tbull. It blows my mind.

Wow that’s is ridiculous. How could someone go after the father on negligent charges after this horrible thing happened to his son? His son walked in someone’s yard, and? Things happen and parents aren’t perfect. I don’t see how that’s negligence? I agree with what you said. This dog mauled this kid so bad, I bet it wouldn’t have mattered if the kid entered his yard.

@xev1979 Very true. I’ve met so many great ones.

It does depend on the breeder. My uncles and dad’s friends had German shepherds and they were really good around all of us kids. My mom’s friend also had one and it was great with us kids as well. My bf grew up with a German shepherd. Really good with him and his sister and all the friends they had over. However, I have heard of some of them not being good around children. My friend’s mom had one when she was born, and she said she didn’t trust it around the baby. I think it does all depend on the breeder with them. They were originally bred for herding and then became involved in law enforcement and the military due to their versatility, so some are more serious that others, and then some (the ones I grew up with) were complete goof balls lol but would also protect their family if needed.
