I have some difficult-to-use-in-AMS cardboard spools. Even though I printed a nice rim for them the AMS still has issues with them. Mostly this is because while trying to get it to work previously the spool got loose and some winding issues were created.
They have mostly gotten worse since and I think the culprit is partially Bambus behavior of unwinding and re-winding the spool whenever it encounters a problem. I get how in some cases this might _fix_ cases where the printer would otherwise be able to carry on fine but in this case where I know the spool is not wound well it is not helping. I keep having to fix it.
Inevitable when it rewinds the spool doesnt correctly rewind with it so the filament ends up in all sorts of places which makes the next layers on the spool loose which increases the possibility of issues down the line.
I really wish I could just turn this behavior off.
If it means the AMS stops my print entirely where it could've potentially worked through an issue so-be-it. I would rather handle a handful of tangles than risk create new ones each time it encounters one.
