Thinking of planting some non-clumping bamboo to fill in the sparse trees on the property line to block my view of my neighbor's ugly RV and boat

When I look out my kitchen window or sit on the back patio I look over and see my neighbor's boat and RV that are covered in tarps through the trees. Got five or six plum trees and one really large cherry tree on the property line. Ripping up the trees would be a lot of money or a lot of effort. There's a power line that runs above them (not directly above) too. Plus this used to be orchard and I don't really want to rip up the trees because they are historical in a way.

Can't put in a fence that would be tall enough to block that view. It would have to be 10 ft tall and I think the city says I can't put up more than 8 ft.

I thought adding some bamboo in a kind of checkerboard pattern back there would give me some visual fencing. Curious what other people think of this though. What I really want is a living green fence to block the view of the boat and RV and garage on the other side of the property line.
