Let’s keep each other company. I can offer chocolate cake, roast potatoes, great conversation and an Irish accent.
Hey all! I found myself falling into a bit of a rut this morning. I heard Hozier’s cover of Fairytale of New York from SNL and it immediately made me super nostalgic for home. I wasn’t able to get home to Ireland for the holidays and found myself missing friends and family more than I was ready for. I’m not one to wallow though so decided to turn my attention and energy to something more positive - making delicious food AND making new friends! I'd love to find someone to meet up with after Christmas.
I'm originally from Ireland but have lived in multiple countries over the last few years and am now settled in the US.
Let's get a few of the frequently asked questions out of the way: Yes, I still have the accent. No, I've never had Lucky Charms. Yes, I love potatoes. No, corned beef and cabbage is not my favorite meal. Yes, I can make soda bread. No, I am not always drunk. Yes, I have heard of the town your ancestors are from. No, I've never caught a leprechaun. I may know your friend/cousin Liam.
I work in climate change, so I am either perpetuating a hoax or helping save the world. Recently I've been a big fan of long walks...between the couch and fridge. I really enjoy running...out to stock up on snacks. And I also like bike rides. Actual bike rides. I like to travel and have been to more countries than I can count, both for work and pleasure. At the same time, I enjoy taking the time to watch TV and movies, I am always reading a book or two. Ultimately, I just try to be mindful of my time and put thought into whatever it is I am doing. I think time is a non-renewable resource so I do my best not to waste it. I love to cook and bake. If you are someone who enjoys chocolate cake or fresh bread, I’ve definitely got you covered. And you haven’t lived until you’ve had my roast potatoes.
No expectations of what may come from this post as it definitely feels like shouting into the void but that is definitely better than dating apps. Ultimately, I would just like to build a connection. Maybe that means texting and calling, maybe it means going for brunch or maybe it means listening to my accent and then enthusiastically making out. But please do reach out if any of this has piqued your interest, regardless of where you may be from.
