So, I've gone through early access with each class and several of the race options and I found that fighter was one of my favorites to play and Eldritch Knight in particular was very fun and powerful. Naturally, I think about Battle Master and how it's one of my favorites in regular D&D to play and that the game is enjoyable as a BM if not a bit more limited in comparison to EK.

Then it dawns on me: Zariel Tieflings get a smite as a racial ability in D&D.

So, immediately my mind jumps to battle master and how the searing smite will offer a nice bit of damage and additional affect on enemies especially when used on combination with BM maneuvers. Smash cut to hitting level 3 and they give Zariel Tieflings Jump instead of Searing Smite and I'm bummed.

Not all the smites are built into the game but a few smites and smite like features are so it's kind of a bummer that a fun race/class combo won't work as I thought. Granted, jump is amazing in this game, but still kind of sad.

I hope that add the smites in as racial features soon, if at all. It'd make for some cool builds.

Still would recommend this build because jump is a great get, especially since you get the innate fire resistance and darkvision. Both of which are pretty crucial, the additional bonus to charisma doesn't hurt either.
