here’s the trick: before the cutscene where shadowheart gives shar a blood offering, i stripped all my characters down to nude, weaponless states. then, i snuck into the trial room and re-equipped all the clothing, armor and weapons. killing the shadow clones that were now lacking clothing and gear was a total breeze
