In DnD 5th edition, I just recently started running a module of Out of the Abyss, an underdark module supposed to run until level 15 with a party of four, and it ends with the prince of demons, Demogorgon, fighting the party. At level 15, this PRINCE OF THE ABYSS has 450 HP.
Raphael, on the other hand, has 666HP. I get the joke, I know, but logically this puts him nearly on par with arch devils. Alongside that he has about 8 cambions to back him up, as well as an orthon if you suck at persuasion. In dungeons and dragons, he would be an INCREDIBLY difficult fight, bordering on impossible, for a 12th level party. With a combined enemy health pool of about 1650, compared to the party’s likely total of around 350-400. It’s a wonder the party was able to defeat Raphael. It’s also SO lucky he didn’t have access to any lair actions, considering he is only able to be fought in his lair.
Long story short, Raphael would be a near impossible boss if translated from BG3 to DnD 5e.
