I'm in the first act of the game, and I find that I have trouble defeating some enemies, even with the difficulty lower. It could be because they are a higher level than me, or I need to get better gear for my party. My character is a level 4 fighter human, and I am using scale mail 14 armor class, Varsh Ko'kuu's boots, and the sword of justice. Meanwhile, my party (consisting of Astarion, Lae'zel, Karlach, Shadowheart, and Gale) is mostly using their default gear (I say mostly because I had Gale die and revive, and while he was dead, I looted him, but after I revived him, I made sure to give him his default gear, though I may have missed something. I also believe I may have had Shadowheart wear armor other than her default).

The only areas I've been to are the Wilderness and Githyanki Créche. The parts I am having trouble with are defeating the two death shepherds with the ghouls so I can travel through the Mountain Pass and defeating Kith'tak Thetrzzyn and her allies in the Crèche Y'llek after refusing to give her the artefact, though this is largely because she keeps casting fear on me and my companions.
