Dark Urge as first playthrough?

This is something I have seen people debate, how the Dark Urge is similar to the normal game but decently different in its own way with people saying that you should not play Dark Urge for your first playthrough but honestly, I've never been one to do multiple playthroughs of a game back to back. If I do, it's pretty spaced out from each other in the future. Given that in mind, should I do the Dark Urge playthrough as my first or wait?
