Post Body

I have a little experience with 5e, but I'm very much a newbie. Trouble is, I think that little bit of knowledge is actually confusing me.

I might come back with more questions!

Using Shadowheart as an example, I believe that Fire Bolt uses Intelligence as it's casting stat, because even though she is a Cleric and uses Wisdom, she got the cantrip as a racial ability so it uses Intelligence. Is that right?

When I control Shadowheart and examine Fire Bolts tooltip, it says INT, but if I then click to view further details, the roll information shows she's using her Wisdom modifier plus proficiency. Is that an error?

Usually, her melee attack has a higher hit rate than Fire Bolt (not in melee range so no disadvantage, just to clarify). Why might that be?

How does Pickpocket work? It's not on the radial menu, it's a context menu on a target. If I use pickpocket and it doesn't work at all, does that mean the person isn't carrying anything? Can I disarm/remove someone's gear (other than Battlemasters disarm ability, if it's in the game)?

Is it possible to stay hidden when in line of sight? When I've tried it before, as soon as someone turns around they see me instantly. Would I need to be invisible? If I need to be out of their line of sight, I feel like... well, aren't I hidden by default? Or should I think about hide as more like, being quiet?
