So, what actually was the plan that the dead three's chosen were trying to implement. So General Thorm was going to raise an army using the tadpoles and proceed with a mock invasion of Baldur's Gate, while Orin goes on a mass murder spree in the city. The chaos then allows for Gortash to justify taking control of Baldur's Gate, and being crowned Archduke, which was what happened.
Then what? Why is that needed if they have control of an Elder Brain capable of creating an ever-growing army of thralls? If you can conquer the city anyways, why do you need to become Archduke?
Or was the Elder Brain only meant as a means to taking Baldur's Gate, after which they were intending to get rid of it, knowing they couldn't maintain control over it?
I'm a bit confused, because their plan seems a bit convoluted, when in the end, it just seems to be about getting all three Netherstones, and taking control of the Elder Brain.
