Should the whole party dual wield hand crossbows?

Edit: To clarify, I'm not going full pew pew, I'm only using the unused actions from the turn to contribute with damage. Eg when the fighter has walked but can't reach the enemy with his greatswd, or if I don't want to use a spell slot for a spell with a bonus action and don't want to just end the turn.

Is it a good idea?

I'm a dragonborn sorcerer mc, and am thinking of sending my origin companions back to camp and hire a new party - half elf warrior, drow wizard, blue dwarf ranger in my team.

Since we don't need to reload crossbows in BG3, I was thinking I could respec them to all to have 16dex (I guess 14 on the fighter with medium armour), and giving them all dual hand crossbows so that they can use it if they have nothing else to do with their main/bonus actions.

For the setup, it seems like the 3 companions will be proficient with the hand crossbow. I'm also contemplating if I should take 1-2 levels of fighter for my MC since sorcerer spells are limited and the proficiencies gained would be interesting.
