I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or it's a bug. I've not found anyone else commenting on this particular issue.

My Wizard has the Chromatic Orb spell, and when selected to cast, it gives an option for which variation they want to use (Fire, Lightning, Acid, Thunder, etc).

When I use the scroll for Chromatic Orb however, I cannot cast the spell as the menu option to select the variation does not appear. The range circle appears and the aim line shows up as it might for any other ranged spell attack, but the option to cast is restricted, saying "Select Variant".

Is there something I'm missing or is this a bug with the live version of the game?

UPDATE: I believe I know the problem. I keep my scrolls in a backpack in my bag and have been casting them from within the backpack.

When I drag the scroll to the items hotbar and cast from there, I get the menu update to select a variant and can successfully cast this and other scrolls with similar mechanics.
