Spoilers for act 1!
I beat the quest with the hag last night and playing as a reasonably good dude I tried to subdue the hexed cultists instead of killing them. I got the tutorial prompt for nonlethal attacks when entering that arena so I thought that was the whole idea of the encounter.
It proved to be a HUGE pain in the ass since most of my party relies on magic damage and summons, so I kept having to juggle targets who were low on health. It was a pretty fun challenge but definitely frustrating at times.
Only when I finished the quest it seemed to be for nothing because even though I can safely take the masks off the cultists I have no way to revive them, and after long rest they just disappear.
Sure I can roleplay that they eventually woke up and left but I would have liked to at least be able to talk to them a bit, maybe get some more info on the hag and how they ended up in her thrall.
