Need a replacement for Ancho chili powder in a glaze. Cayenne?
Post Body

I'm making this cake and it has a browned butter ancho chili glaze and my grocery store had no ancho chili powder or anything that I can find.

All I have in my cupboard that's similar is red pepper flakes (nope) and cayenne pepper. Can I use a pinch of cayenne to replace the ancho? As I understand it I'll need to use less cayenne than the recipe calls for ancho but I'm not certain if it will be a good flavour substitute.

Thanks!

Edit: Nailed it! Guess I don't have to worry about the glaze anymore, still tastes good.
