Does anybody else associate black forest cake with the 70s or is it just my husband?
I think it could have used more chocolate shavings for a better vintage look, but chocolate and cherry is a timeless combination. 👌
Chocolate cake from Sally’s Baking Addiction (a tried and true recipe IMO).
Stabilized whipped cream technique from Sugar Geek Show.
Filling was a mix of bourbon stewed cherries, jarred sour cherries in syrup, and chopped chocolate/cherry preserve mix from a chocolate making experiment gone awry.
Ok WOW you pulled it off!! Vintage Black Forest cake!
