How long does flour actually last?

Post Body

I'm just a casual hobby baker. I only use white all purpose because I usually just make banana bread and cookies, nothing fancy.

If I store it in an air tight container in a cool, dark place, how long should it last? I googled it and I'm seeing anywhere from 3 months(!!!!!) to a year. How long until someone like myself would notice a difference in using old flour in their baking?

It's on a great sale right now and I want to know if I should stock up or not 😂

TIA!
