I often run into people who have this policy of the person adding them to send first message and to have come up with ideas first hand or they will be deleted. I am not opposed to sending first message when I add someone sometimes, but I am also not against the idea of breaking the ice first with someone who added me at some point. I am curious as to why there are people who need this policy. It only makes sense to me if there is low interest to start something new and they were busy, but I see it from people who also say they don't have many people to roleplay with.
Edit: I personally think it can chase people away and that there are other more friendly and efficient ways to save time. Like, not worrying so much as to who sends the first message, but during the conversation you should be able to tell what their intentions are. I understand wanting to avoid friend collectors who don't talk or roleplay, and in that case, wait to see if that's what it ends up being.
