We moved into a new home a few years ago and it had this gigantic pear tree, somewhere in the 25’ range. It seems healthy but I think it needs some help…
Should I trim it down, it seems vulnerable to breakage and I’m worried it’s getting too big for its own good.
I pruned it the first year, believe it was in early spring, and no pears grew… I realized my mistake. Whats the best time to prune ?
Most of the fruit is inedible. Typically covered in some kind of bug or disease and very small. We would like to harvest it, but it’s not appetizing.
Any tips here?
