Central NY. Zone 5a/b. Looking for water loving varieties that produce some edibles. And doesn’t have to be just for humans. Birds and deer welcome too.
I’ve got Persimmons growing and I’ve heard they don’t mind the wet but I’ve been tempted to hold off since a few die off from the cold.
Also highbush blueberries are an option. I know some oaks like wet but they will get too big eventually and shade out my fruit trees. Anyone have any luck growing dwarf chinquapin oak in wet soil.
Any suggestions are welcome.
