Hey, I have a bit of a hole in my quiver - I have the ultralight setup, the skimo setup, the powder setup, the resort setup x2 etc…. I’m feeling like I don’t have a suitable ‘daily driver’ for PNW conditions. My skimo setup is fantastic but just a little short for really opening it up on big slopes. So, I’m looking at 2 options - if anyone has any input, I’m all ears.
1: 188cm Zag UBAC 102 with ATK Crest 10 bindings. Price w skins: $800.
2: 186cm Armada Locator 104 with Tracer Tour bindings. Price w skins and mounting: ~$900.
A couple notes: I am also considering the Locator 112 at 187cm. I could also replace the Tracer Tour bindings on the Armadas with ATK Raider 12s - but this would bump the price up by about $200.
I should also note that 188cm is approaching a fairly long ski for my height, weight, and skiing style. I think I’d be more comfortable in the low-mid 180s, but it seems some skis simply do not have this option.
Any input appreciated, particularly from anyone who’s skied any of these skis / bindings in the PNW snowpack.
