Does opening freeze dried meals, splitting them into two servings, putting them into freezer bags, and putting boiling water directly in the bag work? I bought Wallaby Food Storage Solutions MRE Pouches that are air right, moisture proof, food grade, BPA free, and are noted to withstand boiling water safely, but now Iโm wondering if they weigh more or something or why people choose freezer bags? So freezer bags save space and weight? I donโt think the original freeze dried meal bags are that bulky or heavy. Lastly, I saw this Hyperlite Repack pouch to keep food warm while it rehydrates. Is that necessary?
