How close should you dance sensual bachata without seeming creepy?
Post Body

First of all, creepy is subjective with respect to different followers and what kind of relationship or connection I have with her. My question is regarding followers I meet at parties. I don't know how to assess their comfort level.

There are three types of distances in sensual bachata in my opinion:

  1. open position

  2. close position where the leader's right hand is on her back (near the bra-hook), and the left hand is holding her hand. Or the left hand is also on her back. Lots of sensual moves are possible from this position.

  3. super-close position: where the leader's right hand is on her back but the left hand is either free or also on her back but there is almost no space between our bodies. The follower's right hand is on the leader's neck. This feels almost like a hug. There is often forehead connection or cheek connection as well.

I'm not sure how to know whether a follower is OK with dancing number 3 without seeming creepy. I'm afraid of beeing looked creepy so I never try number 3.

However, yesterday I had an incredible dance with a beautiful woman who made the initiative to come closer to me and connect with my foreheard and my cheek. That was amazing and now I wonder whether I'm missing out by not dancing number 3.

How do you determine whether a follower is comforable with number 3 or not?
