I'm a big fan of some of the latin artists who happen to do a lot of mainstream pop stuff with a latin flavour along with their actual latin songs, such as Enrique Iglesias or Marc Anthony. My question is, is it possible to dance bachata sensual to non-bachata versions of latin songs, and if so, does it change how do you anything? Or do you just do the same counts? I'm thinking of things like this:
Thanks for any help.
EDIT: I mean bachata sensual mainly, as that's what I prefer and practise the most.
Thanks for this, I did think that most pop songs being 4 beats meant it would lend itself to bachata, good to have that confirmed. And don't worry, I have many disguises with which to evade the long arm of the bachata law 😁
Ah I'm not in the DR, I'm in the UK, but if I ever make it to the DR, I'll keep that in mind. One of our instructors posted a video of them dancing in the DR just a couple of weeks ago and I could see a slight difference in the way they were doing it compared to how I'm learning.
Thanks! That's one of the things I was wondering, whether I can still do the normal counts or if it would have to be all body movements etc.

Thanks, Dean! Don't worry, I'll be sticking to the likes of Enrique and Marc for this - not a merengue in sight (or sound!).
