I know exercising during pregnancy is a good thing. I know you need to gradually decrease your exercise intensity as you move along in your pregnancy. I really want to exercise. I want me and the baby to be healthy. I also really don't want to gain a whole bunch of extra weight.
However, I'm only in my first trimester and I've never been so damn exhausted in my life. I can barely do anything. I go to bed a night, sleep eight hours, go to my morning classes, come home three hours later, and take a one to three hour nap. Then I wake up and continue to be cranky and exhausted for the rest of the day. This whole getting exercise business isn't really happening. The best I can do is occasionally doing some pushups in my living room before falling over and wanting to go to sleep.
Just a couple of months ago, though, I was regularly working out, I finally got to the point where I could bench press my own body weight. I got to break my time record for running a mile (6:30, woot!). But now, it's all I can handle to just remain conscious to go to school. I should mention I've also been fighting the worst sinus infection I've ever had. Perhaps it's just the crazy erratic hormones talking, but I already feel like I'm going to be a terrible mother because I'm taking such shitty care of myself.
After writing this out, I realize I should really see a doctor. However, it's going to be about a month before my insurance kicks in, and no OBGYNs want to see me without insurance. I could go to the health department, but the wait for that is even longer (about a two month wait for an initial appointment). I have been going to the local doc-in-a-box, but they just tell me to see a OBGYN for my concerns.
Anyway, thanks for listening to my rant. All of this has me feeling very angsty and miserable.
