I just came back from a doctors appointment (I am 24 weeks) and was told that up until now my weight gain has been steady (1lb per week) but this past month I gained double that (about 2lb per week). I eat very little sugar, very little bread/rice/potatoes, very little junk/processed/take out foods and work out for 30 mins 5x per week. My Dr really shamed me for gaining and told me she was worried that I would have 'too much weight to lose' after I gave birth. She said you don't need any extra calories during pregnancy and I should take the normal amount of food I ate pre-pregnancy and just split it up in to smaller portions and eat more frequently. She was really quite pushy about it all and made me feel very ashamed.
Considering I eat very healthy, I don't know what more I can do to cut down. I was on a very low carb diet prior to getting pregnant and so a lot of this may be water weight gain but she really shamed me in to feeling like I need to eat less. I am feeling really stressed about this all, mostly because I know what I put in my body and I know I eat very cleanly, but am more stressed about the shaming of it all.
She also mentioned that my blood pressure was normal (112/70) and that my fundal height is measuring small so I am otherwise quite healthy.
