So I've had a shit week medically, was at the hospital 4 times in 5 days for various reasons concerning baby Charlie. I'm also in the US Navy, and have been expecting backlash from missing so much work for all of this. Probably just because I'm paranoid about be labeled a malingerer for missing so much time, but instead my LPO met me at the hospital, helped me keep calm by telling me hilarious sea stories, and reassured me that I'm hitting every level necessary at work. My chiefs have gone out of their way to accommodate an unexpected move I'm making (my landlady decided she wants to move back into my apartment so I've had to scramble for a new one) and are organizing a 'help vekeso move' day so I don't have to hire movers. Days like this remind me why I'm lucky to be in the Navy and have such amazing leaders to work under!
