Sorry for the length, I tried to keep it as short as I could.
I tested about 4 weeks ago at home, 7 tests, 3 different brands, all positive. Went to my first OBGYN appointment on 12/14/16 to confirm the pregnancy. Was positive there too. They guessed I was almost 6 weeks along from the start of my last period which was 11/2/16. I had only been off birth control for two months, only got one period but it was on time. I'm not sure if my cycles are irregular or not since I never got a second one.
I went back on 12/30 for the first transvaginal sonogram where I should have been a little over 8 weeks. The gestational sac was there, but no yolk sac, fetal pole, or heartbeat. She also said my uterus was tilted so it was in a more difficult position to tell. The tech said based on the measurements of the sac I was probably about 6 weeks and it was too early to see anything. Enter anxiety, because I've been reading a lot and it seems 5-6 weeks you should still see at least a yolk sac. But there was nothing.
They took my blood that day to test for HCG and progesterone, and I went again yesterday for another blood test. The results from Friday's tests show my HCG was 78,160 mIU/mL and progesterone was 18.4 ng/mL. From what I can tell that is really high for the HCG, and the little chart in the lab results from my doctor shows that number would put me around 7-8 weeks. But if I was that far along, something should have been visible on the sonogram.
I'm just...worried, to say the least. It's my first pregnancy and I'm so scared it's just an empty sac and nothing is in there. I'm refreshing the lab page all day today waiting for the new results to come in so I can see what my HCG was at yesterday. Obviously I'm not a doctor but this all just seems wrong to me. I feel like I should have been able to see something and I'm fairly certain now there's no baby in there. My next sonogram isn't until next Friday so I won't have much comfort until then.
Anyone else have any really high HCG levels early on, or a missing baby initially in the sono but saw it later? I'm just hoping that maybe I'm just a weird case with high levels that's still early.
