So, I'm like 10 weeks along. We've told close family and friends. My SO was chatting with an acquaintance and gave her the news. She proceeds to post it on facebook with both me and my SO tagged in the post.
So, in addition to the downright rudeness of the whole thing, there's the fact that I have co-workers on my facebook, including a management, none of whom had been told, and that I would have preferred to tell on my own terms. I'm pretty sure it's not pregnancy hormones making me a ticked off about this!
The post was up for a few hours before I saw it, and I have since un-tagged myself. I'm getting my SO to talk to her about it because I think the most diplomatic I can manage on this is passive-aggressive.
Here's what I've got:
"OMG! I'm so sorry I missed the PM where you asked me if it was ok to announce my pregnancy on facebook! The answer is no."
OR
"Thank you for relieving me of the burden or deciding how and when people find out I'm pregnant. I was still deciding when my co-workers should find out, but you took care of that for me. We both know the last thing a pregnant woman needs is the ability to make decisions for herself ;)"
Edit: My SO sent her a message and the post was taken down sometime last night.
