Little baby Newby was born this morning at 8:15 EST. She weighed 7lbs and 12oz and was 20.25in tall.
Labor was pretty easy. I woke up last night around midnight when my water broke and started having contractions. I got to the hospital and they had a hard time confirming I was leaking fluid. After they finally did a pelvic exam, they confirmed that the sac had ruptured and I was around 4cm dilated.
I was admitted to L&D after that. I tried laboring for a while with IV meds. I ended up getting an epidural which was an excellent decision. It worked very well. I went to sleep for a few hours and woke up with a strong urge to push. The nurse checked me, I was fully dilated so they called in the doctor. After about five pushes in five minutes, the baby was out!
It definitely went way better than expected! Pics to come.
