I am getting contractions. Lots of them. They started at around 4:30PM EST and have continued to get stronger, closer together, and more painful since then.
I just put my 16 month old down for the night. Now I'm going to go take a shower and try to lay down and relax with my SO and time the contractions. So far they've been hard to time since I've been chasing my daughter around all evening.
Anyway, this might actually be it. I may be heading to the hospital shortly with my husband and mom. Please send fast, easy labor vibes!
Edit: So it's 12:20AM EST and I just got home from the hospital. I was strapped to the monitors for a couple of hours and had contractions 2-3 minutes apart the entire time. Reasonably painful, but still bearable. I was 1 centimeter dilated when I was admitted, so they sent me home.
The nurse was extremely unhelpful with information on when I should go back in, since I did follow instructions and go to the hospital when my contractions were five minutes apart or less. She said, and I quote "Well you're obviously not in labor because you're calmly talking to me. Come back in when you're doubled over in pain." and when I pointed out that pain is somewhat subjective, and my mom pointed out that she had relatively painless early labor with all of her naturally born kids, the nurse just said "I guess you'll just have to guess, then."
Is it wrong that I wanted to strangle her? I still want to strangle her. And I'm still having contractions. She had also made a few other rude/flippant comments throughout my short stay there that aren't really relevant. It almost makes me want to just have the baby at home so I don't have to deal with obnoxious and rude medical staff.
