Something that always bugged me about the series is that I don’t feel like we ever get a good idea of how large the population of humanoid Cylons is (not counting all of the backup bodies, I’m just talking about the ones that are conscious and crewing the baseships). With the way that the finale is written, it seems like the Battle of the Colony is supposed to be the end of both the second Cylon war and Cylon civil war. No one mentions the possibility that there could be entire fleets of baseships still out there looking for the surviving humans. Even if Cavil’s forces are supposed to represent the entirety of the remaining “evil” faction, his baseships weren’t seen at the final battle, meaning they could still be out there. On a related note, does anyone know if there was any official number given for how many Cylons were on the rebel baseship when it joined the fleet?
