I went into BSG a couple months ago with no prior knowledge and absolutely loved it, I’ve watched both Razor and The Plan but haven’t seen Caprica or Blood and Chrome yet. Here’s a few thoughts I had after the end of the series:
-Who do you think D’Anna was apologizing to when she saw the faces of the Final Five? I’ve seen wikis say that it was supposed to be Ellen, meaning D’Anna’s apology is for her death on New Caprica. I think it’d make more sense if it was Anders though, since she nearly killed him in that episode where she was trapped in the rubble with him, Caprica six, and Boomer.
-I loved Cavil’s characterization as being angry at the Final Five for giving him a flawed human body, that rant he had at Ellen about wanting to see gamma rays and feel supernovas or whatever was great. But why did he want to bring back resurrection tech so badly then? I’m sure they had the ability to produce centurions still, so wouldn’t Cavil be fine with the Cylon race living on as mechanical beings again? The only reason I can think of would be his own desire for self preservation and fear of death, which would be an ironically (and probably intentional from the writers) human motivation.
-After the disappointment of original Earth, would it have been a practical plan to head back to Kobol? I know it was probably really far away at that point in the series plus Cavil’s forces already knew where it was, but I feel like it would’ve been better to go back to a place that they knew could support life rather than wandering in space with no real plan.
