I would like to know what everyone opinions are on Eagle Scout mentor pin? Specifically giving them to scouts. I can't find any set guidelines on the distribution of the mentor pin.
But lately our scoutmaster has allowed the scout to give out mentor pins to their scout friends or another scout who "helped" them or "inspired" them.
Personally as an ASM and a parent and other adults in the troop feel like this could create animosity towards the scouts receiving and not receiving. And at that age it can be hard to have them understand that it's not a popularity contest.
Perhaps their are guidelines and I'm missing them or it's just "understood" that pins should be given out a certain way.
