I'm not new to teaching merit badges but I'm getting back into it. Since the last time I taught Camping MB the requirements changed.
Cooking merit badge has clear guidance that the meals for it must be unique from rank advancement or any other merit badge.
Is there anything anywhere that says that First Class meals can't count for Camping Merit Badge 8D? I looked in the Guide to Advancement but maybe I missed something.
The actual requirement doesn't disallow this.
While camping in the outdoors, cook at least one breakfast, one lunch, and one dinner for your patrol from the meals you have planned for requirement 8c. At least one of those meals must be a trail meal requiring the use of a lightweight stove
Assuming the Scout has cooked on a lightweight stove, made the menus and such is there anything anywhere that formally says they couldn't make one to three menus and cook it and count towards First Class and Camping Merit Badge at the same time?
One interesting thing in this requirement is that all the first person pronouns are really plural. Nothing should be done alone but the menu and cooking should be done within the patrol model.
