Hello, so it's not really one incident, but two separate ones it isn't anything major I guess but thinking about it still irks me.
So one day I come home from class and I'm watching content related to the Batman video games just like trailers and junk. I was like "Oh that's awesome" Just enjoying myself and she was doing her own thing. And she got like upset with me because I was enjoying this thing and in particular this video game. She went on about how it belonged in the trash and how it was sexist and junk.
So she became upset at me for being excited about this video game. And then she went further than that to say that If I played this game I didn't respect her and value her etc over this video game.
Similarly I was watching the show "Community" And she talked about how the show did a bad thing trying to have a relationship with a character in middle ageish and a character in her 20s. I didn't really debate it, but I just said sometimes or a lot of the time TV Is just TV. And she snapped at me about how her parents were deadbeats and how she used to stay up all night watching TV and that's all she had for a while or whatever.
And that not everyone had parents to put out that sometimes TV Is just TV and even though this was a TV Show for adults more or less that they should be wary what they show or whatever.
Then last month it was election season as we all know. And I expressed interest at voting for a third part candidate. And she went off on me about how I didn't care about her and how I thought my ideals/opinions etc were more than people's lives. And that I didn't care about people like her and minority,LGBT etc.
And it's just infuriating still to think about this because I'm a freaking minority too. And then I purposed the question "Oh are you saying that I as a minority don't care about myself" And she just went on and changed the subject.
Anyway a lot of the time I feel she's "Oh I respect what you have to say, but you're wrong on this and I'm right" Or "I'm not saying you are wrong, but you are wrong" But, never says it in a playful manner and just says "Oh I'm just teasing" after a somewhat negative comment" So am I being petty or overly sensitive?
