I posted earlier about how my BPSO was having an identity disturbance issue; later that night he came home in a decent mood and asked for the scissors before heading upstairs. About half an hour later, he came back downstairs completely clean-shaven! Now don't get me wrong, I was very supportive. Told him he looks good and it's neat to see a new side of him and everything. Which is true! In all the time I've known him he's never not had facial hair - and for the past year he's been growing his beard out. And he does actually look good without a beard too.
I just... In the past, he's jokingly said, "yeah one of these days whenever I'm manic I'm shaving my beard." And I do take these jokes with a very tiny grain of truth. But still, it came as a bit of a shock to me with how sudden this was. His body, his choice, and he's got our support no matter what. Just... Sudden.
Has anyone else dealt with something like this before? Something harmless but still "big" in a way?
