Early Signs of BPD

Post Body

What are some things that you did as a child that you believe was an early sign that you had BPD. We know that you can’t be diagnosed until after you’re 18 because they brain is still developing but that doesn’t mean the signs are still there so let’s hear it.

For me there’s two specific things. 1.) When I was 7, I lived in a big, two story house. We weren’t there for long because it was too expensive but we did live there for about 2 years. One time, the screen to the window fell out, meaning there was nothing between the window and outside world. I kept staring outside the window and looking down at the street and bushes. I pictured myself jumping out multiple times. I even considered actually jumping. I had one of my legs out. My brother told my father what I was doing and instead of my father taking that as a red flag, he just spanked me. 2.) I constantly dissociated from the world. I would stop believing I was real. I thought that I was just a doll being played with. It would take me a few minutes before I could snap back to reality. The question, “what if we’re not real?” buzzing in my head.

These are just some of the examples I could think of but these two I believe are the biggest signs there were.

I would say yes but I don’t experience that all now in fact I really only tend to date like up to five years older than me. It’s possible that it’s because older men would give me attention as being teachers/ role models in my life and I clung onto that.
