Hey! I just recently got told my therapist that I portray a lot of BPD characteristics and I match 8/9 diagnostic criteria which means I have it. Anyways I started DBT today and I am feeling excited to share about it with my partner when a genius thought struck and the reason I'm sharing is hopefully it can help some of you too.
Basically I decided instead of asking him "can I tell you about my group therapy today?" I'm gonna ask him "do you have time for me to tell you about my group therapy? I would love to share about it" so that if he's busy at the moment and says no it doesn't feel like rejection and instead I can be like so when would work for you! Just thought that was a good idea BCS I get very hyped up all day to share things or do something when my partner gets home and if there's any even inkling of rejection or boundary setting on his part cause he's just had a long day I can get extremely upset and spiral even when I don't show it. So yeah. Just a thought!
